The History of Kidcare International

Susie Djan founded KIDCARE in April 1999, with the assistance and support of her local church, True Vine church (situated in South London in the UK). KIDCARE officially took its first step on Saturday 17th April 1999, by assisting fourteen children from an impoverished village in Uganda and fifteen others in a squatter township in South Africa to attend school. Since then, the organisation has steadily grown from strength to strength.

Apart from the UK, Kidcare has operated in Ghana, India, Kenya, Pakistan, Philippines, Uganda, Ukraine, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Kidcare now provides assistance for over 900 children in several nations through the following means: The Sponsor a Child to school program, assistance given to children’s homes, support for community schools and financial aid given to support small scale business for poor families.
